This README file describes the installation and use of the tscakaram font (pcf
format - TSCII v1.7) on a Linux platform. It may work in other Unix platform
also though the details may vary.

INSTALLATION 
------------

Un-zip the tscakaram-tsc-1.7.tar.gz file in your home directory

tar zxvf tscakaram.tar.gz
 
A directory called tsc-1.7-fonts will be created. It will contains the
following files:

README                    This file
fonts.dir                 File needed for installing the font	
tscakaram.pcf	          TSC akaram font in .pcf format (point size 12)
tscakarambold.pcf
tscakaramitalic.pcf
tscakarambolditalic.pcf

To Set up the font path for TSC font: 

cd ~/tsc-1.7-fonts
xset +fp `pwd`
xset fp rehash

Now Launch Netscape and goto Edit-->Preferences->Appearance
Under this menu select "Fonts" and choose the following:

For the Encoding:  Western (iso-8859-1)
Variable Width Font: Tabakaram (Tamil)
Fixed Width Font: Tabakaram (Tamil)

Select "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts"

Click OK - that's all! Enjoy!
