This README file describes the installation and use of the tabakaram
font (pcf format) on a Linux platform. It may work in other Unix platform also
though the details may vary.

INSTALLATION 
------------

Un-zip the tabakaram.tar.gz file in your home directory

tar zxvf tabakaram.tar.gz
 
A directory called fonts will be created. It will contains the
following files:

fonts.dir	
tabakaram.pcf	TAB akaram font in .pcf format (point size 12)

Set up the font path for TAB font. 

cd ~/fonts
xset +fp `pwd`

Now Launch Netscape and goto Edit-->Preferences->Appearance
Under this menu select "Fonts" and choose the following:

For the Encoding:  Western (iso-8859-1)
Variable Width Font: Tabakaram (Tamil)
Fixed Width Font: Tabakaram (Tamil)

Select "Use my default fonts, overriding document-specified fonts"

Click OK - that's all!
